A two-car accident in Benton County, Missouri, has left a Higginsville woman dead. Sondra Murrell, 75, was killed when the vehicle she drove was struck head-on. At approximately 12:54 PM on September 16, 2019, as he traveled northbound on Missouri 7, Darin Lutman, 42, crossed the center line, into southbound traffic, and crashed head-on into Murrell’s vehicle. She was pronounced dead on the scene and subsequently transported by the Benton County Coroner to the Benton County Coroner’s Office. On September 3, 2019, at approximately 5:44 PM, Abram Britton, 43, ran a stop sign and drove into the path of Kyle Schalk’s 2006 Toyota. In doing so, Britton struck the front right quarter panel of Schalk’s vehicle. Britton, who was not wearing a seatbelt, suffered serious injuries and was flown by Life Flight Eagle air ambulance to Research Hospital. A car accident in Wyandotte County has left two persons injured. The crash occurred on US-73 northbound September 5, 2019, at roughly 6:42 PM. According to police, Richard J Mathis of Lansing, Kansas, 33, slowed for traffic at an intersection when Luke T. Parris of Kansas City, 34, struck his vehicle. Parris then fled the scene, only to be located by Lansing police at a later time. While Mathis was not taken to the hospital, he did complain of minor pain.
