Four seriously injured in Douglas County crash
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, on November 17, 2019, Justin Rupnicki, age 27, was seriously injured in a crash at the intersection of 800 Road and U-40 in Douglas County, Kansas. Additional passengers in Mr. Rupnicki’s automobile were also seriously injured. These passengers included Danielle Kaler, age 27, Anthony Maximin, age 9, and Arianny Sulin, age 8.
Mr. Rupnicki was stopped to turn south on East 800 Road when Jamie Guenther, of Overbrook, Kansas, collided into the rear of Mr. Rupnicki’s 2004 Saturn Ion. The rear-end collision caused Mr. Rupnicki’s automobile into oncoming traffic where it was hit again by a 2012 Chevrolent G1500 Van driven by Ryan Allan Lisher, of Lawrence, Kansas. The collision with Mr. Lisher’s van sent Mr. Rupnicki’s automobile into a spin, which caused the automobile to strike a 2019 Chevrolet Impala, driven by Katelyn Soules. All those seriously injured were taken to Stormont Vail Hospital.
