Inattentive Driver Causes Serious Accident in Johnson County
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, on January 22, 2020, Chad Dunkin, age 48, was driving on Route Y when he began to look out his passenger window into a field. In doing so, Mr. Dunkin, driving a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado, crossed the center of the roadway and began driving in the direction of Sheila Richner, age 51. Due to the headlights of Mr. Dunkin’s automobile, Ms. Richner, driving a 1992 Honda Accord, was unable to see and also crossed into the center of the roadway. As a result, the two-automobile collided head-on. Ms. Richner suffered serious injuries and was taken to Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri.
