Wabaunsee County Crash Leaves 5 Dead, 1 Seriously Injured
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, on March 1, 2020, Armando Mascote, of Council Grove, Kansas, died in an accident on I-70 Westbound at milepost 341.5 in Wabaunsee County, Kansas. For an unknown reason, Mr. Mascote, driving a 2001 Ford F-150, was heading eastbound in the westbound lane and struck Jacinto Sanchez-Diz, driving a 1999 Ford Econoline E-350, head on. Mr. Sanchez-Diaz died in the accident, along with three other passengers: Jacinto Sanchez-Diaz, Jose Luis Sanchez-Diaz, and Franciso Daniel Rosa-Mejia. Another passenger, Santos Narcizo Mendoza Capetillo, sustained serious injuries and was taken to Stormont Vail Hospital.
